ROAD INSPECTION SERVICE

Inspection in the area of road infrastructure is directed mainly towards checking the enforcement of laws and other regulations which govern state road maintenance, their safeguarding, and the safeguarding of traffic on them, and also laws and other regulations governing tolling obligations, the manner of setting toll rates, and a manner of tolling for the use of toll roads and toll road facilities.

The supervision of state road maintenance:

Road inspectors supervise the conduct of operations and fulfilment of the stipulated requirements for the following:
- regular maintenance of state roads;
- renovation of state roads;
- reconstruction of state roads.

The supervision of the safeguarding of state roads and traffic on them:

Road inspectors supervise the implementation of the stipulated measures for the safeguarding of state roads and traffic on them for the following:
- construction and reconstruction of facilities and appliances in the buffer zone of the state roads;
- the installation of surface and underground electric wiring and appliances in the area of state roads and their buffer zone;
- digging up, undermining and other works on state roads;
- performing works on plots of ground or premises next to the state roads;
- construction of the accesses of non-categorized access roads and accessions from facilities and plots of ground to the state roads;
- permanent and temporary occupation of state roads or their part with any kind of obstacles;
- performing or suspending of any kind of works on state roads and on plots of ground or facilities next to state roads;
- -setting of partial or entire road blocks of state roads due to works or events on the roads;
- -setting of partial or entire road blocks of state roads due to works or events on the roads;
- ensuring visibility on the inner side of the camber of roads and in the vicinity of crossroads on state roads;
- setting up boards, inscriptions, and other facilities and appliances for image and sound broadcasting and advertising next to state roads;

Supervision of toll payment and tolling for the use of toll roads

Inspectors for roads supervise the fulfilment of the stipulated requirements for:
- the manner of toll setting;
- performing tolling
- toll payment.
