RAIL TRANSPORT, CABLEWAYS AND SKI SLOPES INSPECTION SERVICE

The inspection in the area of rail transport, cableways and ski slopes is directed mainly towards the surveillance of the enforcement of EU legislation, laws and other regulations governing the area of rail transport, cableways and ski slopes.


Supervision of the rail system

Rail inspectors supervise the following:

- the development of safety goals and common safety methods;
- common principles for the management and supervision of rail transport safety 
- conditions for the assuring, improving and developing interoperability of the trans-European rail system for conventional and high speeds;
- constructing, upgrading, maintaining and operating the rail system;
- lower and upper railway line structure;
- signal and safety, and also telecommunication devices, including devices for their electrical energy supply and premise for such devices; 
- buildings and facilities for traffic management and control;
- stable devices for electric traction;
- track lane, and
- track vehicles;
- executive rail workers:
             professional competence;
             psychic and mental fitness;
             medical fitness;
             working hours;
- licences;
- safety certificates;
- security clearances;
- transport of dangerous goods.


Supervision of the cableways

Cableways inspectors supervise the following:
- the condition of cableways and capability for safe operation and unobstructed transport;
- operating and maintaining of the cableways;
- conditions of cableway operations;
- use of technical regulations, norms and standards for performance of works

  and use of materials for the construction, reconstruction and maintenance of

  cableways.


Supervision of ski slopes:

Ski slope inspectors supervise the following:
- ski slope operators;
- implementation of the measures set in the permit to operate ski slopes;
- control over the keeping of records and reporting to the ski slopes operators;
- and tabling the motions for the withdrawal of the permits to operate.
